In a continued effort to promote peace and human security at the National, regional and global levels, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Foundation (LUKMEF-Cameroon) in collaboration with the Global Action to Prevent War and the International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect, organized an African regional workshop at the Protestant University of Central Africa, Cameroon in Yaounde from 17 to 18 of February 2010.

The workshop brought together representatives from key government ministries (military, Police and civil), the civil society, diplomatic missions and international programs. It provided an opportunity to inform and build the capacity of the delegates on civilian protection, genocide prevention, Responsibility to Protect and the UN Emergency Peace Keeping project.

Major outcomes of the workshop including :

(1) The need to improve information flow between AU/UN member countries during policy development and implementation beyond state actors to include non-state actors and the general population

(2) The need to improve Civilian-Military understanding and partnership in local, national/Regional peace and security issues. Delegates expressed the urgency of this particular outcome.

(3) The need to maintain regular briefing for delegates and others on developments around the AU/UN on issues of peace and security that involve Civilian Protection, the Responsibility to Protect, genocide prevention and the UNEPS project

(4)The need to step up national debate on the role of women in peace keeping operations and other peace processes (as Cameroon provides more personnel to AU/UN peace keeping operations).

(5) The delegates adopted to constitute as a working group on Civilian protection, Genocide Prevention, Responsibility to Protect and other AU/UN peace and security issues, mandates and deliberation.

A l’initiative du Groupe de Recherche et d’Action pour la Promotion de l’Agriculture et du Développement (GRAPAD), appuyé par l’Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), le REPAOC a pris part du 28 au 30 juillet 2009 à l’hôtel Excellence de Lomé au TOGO, dans le cadre d’un atelier international de renforcement de capacités et d’échanges sur le thème « Effets de la crise économique sur la mise en œuvre du Programme d’Action d’Accra (PAA) ».

Du 29 juin au 1er Juillet 2009 a eu lieu le II ème Salon International de la coopération au Méridien Président de Dakar.

Des exposants venus essentiellement d’Europe et des pays d’Afrique ont présenté leurs produits sous différentes formes.

Outre une exposition conjointe CONGAD/REPAOC, le REPAOC a participé à l’atelier sur les "nouvelles relations entre les entreprises, les ONG et le secteur public.

Réuni à Bruxelles du 04 au 06 Mars 2009, un consortium composé d’organisations Nord-Sud travaille pour préparer le lancement d’une campagne en faveur du projet : Traduire les OMD en loi sur la réduction de la pauvreté. Cette campagne sera officiellement lancée lors de la 3ième édition des Grandes Conférences Diplomatiques Nord-Sud (3ème GCDNS) qui aura le lieu au Niger du 29 Juin au 02 Juillet 2009.
