CPDE Training on Indicator 2 of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation in Nairobi

 The CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness (CPDE) organised a training of trainers in Nairobi from 30 January to 1 February 2018 on the 3rd monitoring cycle led by the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC).

 Since the Busan Partnership Agreement in 2011 on aid effectiveness, States and development actors have already been invited to report on the implementation and their compliance to the provisions of the said-Partnership twice. For civil society organisations (CSOs), Indicator 2 is particularly important because it is about the respect for and promotion of a CSO enabling environment and their own practice in relation to the 7 Istanbul Principles.

The objectives of this training are:

  • Provide the CPDE CSO focal points with general information on the 3rd round of monitoring conducted by the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC);
  • Prepare the national Focal Points to report on the content of Indicator 2, data collection and verification process;
  • Test the module questions for Indicator 2 and contribute to the final revisions that will be validated by the reference group for Indicator 2;
  •  Provide ongoing training advice on required resources and CPDE participation in the 3rd cycle of monitoring.
